An 11-year-old girl was groped by a man at world famous toy shop Hamleys as she watched a magic show.

The youngster was at the store, in London's Regent Street, with her family when the attack took place.

Police said the group had stopped to watch a magic demonstration when a man approached and indecently assaulted her, before fleeing the store.

Scotland Yard[3] said the suspect in the attack, on November 8, was in his late 30s or early 40s.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses and have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

He is described as white, of thin build, with light brown hair and glasses.

At the time of the incident - between 4pm and 4.30pm - he was wearing a mauve shirt, dark jacket and black trousers.

Officers from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Team are investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to phone police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.

In December 2014, a convicted sex offender admitted targeting children in Hamleys[8] just days before Christmas.

Peter Grant, 61, pleaded guilty to touching a nine-year-old girl's bottom while she and her brother played with remote control cars at the store.

Her grandmother, who was taking photos of the pair trying out the toys, spotted Grant and confronted him.
