Krysten Ritter says girls can sell toys too, wants Jessica Jones toys

Uproxx[1] was told to change that over concerns the toy wouldn't sell.

"There was an early draft of Iron Man 3 where we had an inkling of a problem, which is that we had a female character who was the villain in the draft. We had finished the script and we were given a no-holds-barred memo saying, 'That cannot stand. We've changed our minds because, after consulting, we've decided that toy won't sell as well if it's a female.' So we had to change the entire script because of toy making."

It sounds pretty ridiculous, right?

Ritter thought so too.

"Girls can sell toys," she exclaimed to Colbert on The Late Show[2]. "I don't know if there is [a Jessica Jones toy] yet, but there should be and I bet it would sell huge, and I'm gonna make some phone calls after this."

You can watch the clip from her appearance with Colbert in the video below.

The first season of Jessica Jones tackled some important topics, particularly female empowerment, so of course, there should be some Jessica Jones toys to continue one of the show's themes that women can do anything the men can do. In many cases, a lot better too.

I know plenty of Jessica Jones fans who would flock to the stores to get her action figure and an action figure of Trish Walker, who is another tough female character on the show and budding superhero Hellcat.

The first season of Jessica Jones is streaming on Netflix with Season 2 on the way either late in 2016 or early 2017.
