TOYS: Teacher creates bears to aid self-esteem

A teacher for 10 years in Pompton Lakes and a mom of a child who suffered from separation anxiety disorder and ADHD, Carol Cooper wanted to create something to help children with self-esteem. Ready Set Go focuses on boy and girl bear characters and aims to teach children to view situations differently and view themselves more positively. With the plush Brian and Brianna bears, who have superhero accessories, Cooper hopes children can role play and practice affirmations to feel more confident. The full kit comes with a self-esteem card for parents and brochure on how to use the bear, as well as an "Adventures of Brian/Brianna" booklet. Ready Set Go also offers a line of jewelry. Information: readysetgonow.com.
